I prepared for three weeks to create this video – memorizing and practicing every chance I got! Enjoy 🙂
There’s a scene I really like, from a movie I really like. The movie’s called and it’s the story of a teenaged John Lennon. The scene is between John and Paul McCartney, when they’re playing around on their guitars, talking about making a band. The dialogue (best read in a British accent) is as follows:
Paul: If we’re gonna do this, we should write our own stuff. Then you don’t get stiffed by record companies.
John: I write stuff. Not songs, more…poetry, y’know, stories.
Paul: Add a tune to that and you got a song.
John: You written any?
Paul: A couple.
John: Why do you know so much? I mean, you don’t seem like the rock ‘n’ roll kinda guy.
Paul: Why, ‘cause you mean I don’t go around smashing things up? Acting like a d**k?
Paul: It’s the music, that’s it. It’s just music. Simple.
I really like this scene. I think I mentioned that. Paul’s explanation is just a wonderful philosophy to live by. You don’t have to fall in to other people’s perceptions or expectations. You can be contradictory. You can be your own mash-up of personalities, hobbies, talents, what-have-you. You don’t have to be a rock ‘n’ roller to like rock ‘n’ roll. It’s just music.
And here’s the trailer, just ‘cause 🙂
